The college won the prestigious Youth Parliament competition for college-level institutions on the 22nd April 2022 with a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000/- and a certificate. The competition was organised by the Mizoram Assembly Secretariat to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly. It had two categories, one for schools and one for colleges. Five colleges participated in the second category, namely Govt. Kolasib College, Govt. Serchhip College, Govt. Hrangbana College, Pachhunga University College and Govt. Aizawl College.

Among a list of topics to depict, they selected Question Hour, Calling Attention Motion and Legislative Business. The script was written entirely by the students themselves, with some even going to the extent of contacting by phone their MLAs to ascertain accuracy of details depicted. 

The college competed against Pachhunga University College and Govt. Hrangbana College in the finals at the Conference Hall of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly Secretariat Annexe. The panel of judges included Dr. Kenneth Chawngliana, former Speaker of the House, and legislators Pu Zodintluanga Ralte, MPCC, Pu Vanlalhlana, ZPM, and  Dr. F. Lalnunmawia, MNF. The event was telecast live on Doordarshan, Zonet and LPS.

Govt. Aizawl College placed first in the team event, and Lalhmangaihsanga, 4th sem. bagged the third prize for the Individual prize of Best Parliamentarian.
