The college observed Green Mizoram Day on the 13th June 2022 at its Mualpui campus. At a short formal program held on the occasion, Pu Rochamliana, faculty-in-charge of the Ecology Club, chaired the proceedings. Pu Lalchhuanthanga, MLA representing Aizawl South II constituency, was the Chief Guest and delivered a brief speech where he emphasized the need to plant more trees in the rapidly changing environment of our times, and the equally important task of taking care of trees once they are planted. ASEP (Association for Environmental Preservation) President Pu K. Lalmuansanga, also spoke on the responsibility of students in taking action to reverse damages caused to the environment.

It may be noted that both the Chief Guest and ASEP President are alumni of the college.

A ceremonial tree planting followed the function. Among students and staff, Pu C.Lalluia who had retired in 2010 on superannuation pension as senior lecturer in the Dept. of Mizo, participated in the mass tree planting with two saplings of garlic vine he personally donated. In all, one hundred tree saplings taken from the nursery of the Environment, Forest & Climate Change department, as well as several donated by faculty members, were planted in and around the college campus.
